Eligibility

In order to participate in the hackathon, you must be in high school (or of equivalent age). If you're in middle school and above the age of 13, you can also participate; please contact us at info@losaltoshacks.com for more information.

Teams can be maximum 4 people, and everyone must be present at the hackathon to participate. You must also have your parent packet signed (which will be emailed to you after you are accepted) and your ID (ex: school-issued student ID, driver's license, etc).

Key Rules

1. All participants agree to uphold the MLH Code of Conduct and our Code of Conduct to keep hackathons safe and welcoming spaces for everyone.

2. All work on a project MUST be done during the period of the hackathon. Any use of code that constitutes a major underlying function of your project written outside of April 11-12 from 12PM to 7AM, will result in an automatic disqualification, a ban from future Los Altos Hacks events, and further disciplinary action if required.

3. Teams can use libraries, frameworks, or artifical intelligence in their projects. Open source projects/code may also be used, but direct plagarism can result in a disqualification.
